海南科技职业大学国际交流合作处（港澳台办）是负责学校外事工作，协调国际交流与合作事务的职能部门和办事机构。在学校理事会、党委和行政领导的正确领导下，国际处致力于对外交流与中外合作办学。学校先后与澳大利亚新南威尔士州技术与教育TAFE西南悉尼学院（TAFE NSW）、堪培拉大学、英国爱德华健康管理研究中心、美国国际教育协会、新加坡南洋理工学院、韩国大真大学、韩国新罗大学、台湾朝阳科技大学、加拿大卡莫森学院或国际教育机构建立了合作关系。
学校自成立以来，先后从英国、美国、加拿大和澳大利亚等国家聘请了数十名文教专家，为教师和学生讲授大学英语和专业英语课程。同时，共邀请了约50名来自不同国家或地区的知名专家举办讲座和提供各类培训，其中2011年暑假圆满完成了由省教育厅主办的海南省第9届少数名族地区中学英语教师的培训任务，2012年完成省教育厅、美国国际教育交流协会和海南科技职业大学共同组织的海科大2012年暑假英语教师培训班的任务。
国际处十分重视营造校园职业文化氛围，倡导自我服务理念，鼓励社团文化发展。学校设有书法、街舞、茶艺、跆拳道、太极拳、礼仪、英语角、演讲、体育等20多个学生社团，每周举办形式多样的校园文化活动，外籍教师和外国专家也积极参与，提升了学生的人文素质，增强了跨文化意识。同时，鼓励学生自主境外实习，其中自2013年开始，机电工程学院每年都有多名学生自主到新加坡昭和电力公司实习，受到境外用人单位的赞扬。
国际处以中外合作办学和项目开发为依托，不仅加快了学校国际文化的建设步伐，还带动了引进国外教学资源的工作实践，为学校人才培养、专业改革提供了成熟经验，奠定了“专业+外语+技能”高职外向型人才培养模式的基础，形成了国际合作交流良好的局面。
2014年7月海南省教育厅、海南省外事侨务办公室、海南省公安厅同意海南科技职业大学招收外国留学生，取得招收外国留学生的资质。目前已开设留学生汉语长、短期培训项目。该项目是为国外人和海外华人华侨进行汉语语言文化进修而设立的，旨在明确对外汉语长短期进修教学的性质和特点，规定其教学目标、等级结构、教学内容、教学原则，并对教学途径、教材选编以及测试进行指导。
近六年来，我校与韩国大真大学和泰国博仁大学开展在职教师研究生学历教育合作，对提升我校青年教师的教学能力和管理能力起到了积极的推动作用。
Brief Introduction
Department of International Affairs (DIA) (Hongkong, Macao and Taiwan Office) functions as a gateway to internationalization of Hainan Vocational University of Science and Technology. The DIA provides assistance to faculty, students and staff on international affairs, and serves as a source of information about HVUST’s global engagement. Under the leadership of university council, executive directors and the party committee, the DIA is committed to developing coherent solutions to promote HVUST’s international relations, global profile and international cooperative education. HVUST has established collaborative relationships with several education institutions or companies such as South Western Sydney Institute of TAFE, University of Canberra, Nanyang Technological University, Daejin University, Silla University in South Korea, Chaoyang University of Technology in Taiwan, Edward Centre for Healthcare Research Ltd in England ,Institute of International Education, Genesis Rehab Services (GRS) in U.S.A, as well as Sea King Marine LTD in Bangladesh.
Since it was founded in 2009, HVUST has hired more than 10 experts from England, U.S.A, Canada and Australia to teach college English and professional English course for faculties and students. Meanwhile, the DIA has invited up to 50 well-known experts from different countries or regions to deliver lectures which have provided us with a wide range of training programs. Among them, the DIA has satisfactorily completed The 9th English teachers' training of middle schools in ethnic minority areas sponsored by the Education Department of Hainan province in the summer holiday of 2011; In 2012,the center completed the summer English training class for college English teachers and professional teachers of HVUST organized by Education Department of Hainan Province and American Association for International Exchange of Education.
The DIA attaches great importance to create the vocational cultural atmosphere on campus, advocating the thriving development of students’ association. HVUST establishes more than 20 societies including calligraphy, street dancing, tea art, taekwondo, tai chi, etiquette, English corner, lecture, physical education and so on. These societies will hold various campus activities every week, where foreign teachers as well as experts also actively participate, thus improving the humanistic quality of students, boosting the cultivation of cross-cultural awareness. Meanwhile, HVUST encourages students to carry out the overseas internships autonomously. From the year 2013 till now, our School of Mechanical and Electronic Engineering has sent numbers of students abroad to do the internships in Showa Denko Hd Singapore Pte ltd, the practice performances of our students are highly praised by the oversea employers.
Based on Chinese-foreign cooperation in running schools and project developing, the DIA does not only helps to accelerate the construction of international culture, but also leads to the introduction of working practice about the foreign teaching resources. The DIA has provided the university with some feasible experiences in the aspects of personnel training and professional reform, which establishes the foundation of talents’training mode about "professional + foreign language mastering + skilled" in higher vocational education system so as to cultivate the external-oriented professionals and form a good atmosphere of international cooperation and exchange.
In July, 2014, HVUST was approved by the Education department of Hainan province, overseas Chinese affairs and foreign affairs office of Hainan province and the provincial public security department to gain the authority to enroll foreign students. In addition, the DIA have offered HSK tutorial project including long term classes and short term ones to the overseas students. The project aims at serving the foreign and overseas Chinese students to engage in the advanced studies of Chinese language and culture. In allusion to the characteristics of teaching Chinese as a foreign language in advanced studies, we have stipulated its teaching objectives, teaching levels and structures, teaching contents as well as teaching principles, so as to guide the teaching approaches, teaching materials compilation and testing in our language training programs.
In recent 6 years, we have cooperative projects of in-service teachers education with Daejin University in Korea and Dhurakij Pundit Univerity in Thailand which has greatly promoted our teachers’teaching and management ability.
